“… For me pilates has many faces, it works for people who have physical issues, it helps you to rehabilitate, facilitate better movement, relieve pain and improves self-esteem! And of course Pilates is a great complement to any sport you might enjoy!”
Maren is using Pilates to help people feel good in their bodies and have the best quality of life. She offers a highly personal approach to her teaching, keeps you motivated throughout the training sessions and helps you to achieve your personal goals.
Hannah
Reformer Pilates Instructor
Hannah first began her teaching career in 2015 after she fell in love with Barre Pilates classes in Wellington. During her time in Wellington she taught Barre, HIIT and Swiss ball Pilates. At the end of 2019 Hannah moved to Golden Bay to be closer to family. During that time Hannah began her Yoga teacher training and continued to teach Barre Classes in the small, rural community. Hannah moved to Nelson at the end of 2021 and began her Pilates Mat 1 and 2 teacher training with Hearts and Bones here in Nelson.
Hannah has since deepened her knowledge and became a Reformer Pilates Instructor in 2022 after regularly attending classes at Revive Fitness since the studio first opened. She is a popular instructor and her classes are often waitlisted so we recommend you book early if you would like to attend one of her sessions.
She believes in functional movement, helping people understand their bodies and creating a strong awareness of how the body moves.
Naomi
Reformer Pilates Instructor
Naomi is from Golden Bay originally and after travelling and exploring returned to Nelson which is now well and truly home for her husband and their wee son Ari.
Naomi has always enjoyed working out and has been active in yoga and a bit of dance for 15 years or so, but after finding Reformer Pilates at Revive Fitness she was in love.
She had never found a type of workout that was exciting enough to do several times per week. This motivated Naomi to combine her skills as a school teacher with her passion for Reformer and train as a Reformer Pilates teacher. Naomi has been an instructor at Revive since the start of 2024. You can catch her on Wednesdays and the occasional weekend. She is a graceful instructor with a kind, empathetic nature that suits those who prefer a quieter, calm session. Don’t be fooled though, she will still challenge you!
Alana
Reformer Pilates Instructor
Alana is a Physiotherapist, after completing her studies in Otago she moved up to Nelson in order to explore the national parks, a task she soon realised would take many years.

We know you’ll love her energy, passion and knowledge she brings to the studio. Although she only teaches occasionally she is a valuable part of the team at Revive.
Abbey
Reformer Pilates Instructor
Originally from Whakatane, Abbey moved to Nelson in 2025 to search for more sunshine and explore the outdoors. She completed her Physiotherapy degree at Otago University in 2018 and has since worked in private practice clinics, building valuable knowledge and skills about the human body.
During her first year of work, Abbey completed Levels 1, 2 and 3 Mat Pilates training, which sparked her passion for pilates. She went on to complete Les Mills BodyBalance instructor training in 2021 and Hot Yoga teacher training in 2023, adding a unique range of skills and experience to her teaching. Most recently, Abbey has completed her Reformer Pilates training and is excited to guide you through classes that combine strength, mobility and breathwork to regulate the nervous system, prevent injuries, and leave you feeling strong, empowered and calm.
Outside of the studio, Abbey enjoys long walks in nature, the occasional run, a game of frisbee golf, and cooking a nutritious meal. Feel free to chat with her for recommendations on Nelson’s best nature walks or to swap healthy recipe ideas.
